Day 1: Auckland arrival
You will be met on arrival at Auckland International Airport by your Aroha NZ Tours Representative and transferred to your accommodation in our luxurious vehicle. You will spend the day in the Inner City and near the America‟s Cup Village. Accommodation: Auckland - Hilton hotel or Westin Hotel
Day 2: Auckland – Day trip to Waiheke Island (Private wine-tour)
Take ferry to nearby Waiheke Island, renowned for its beautiful Mediterranean landscapes. Here we have organised a private wine-tour to the Island 's most respected vineyards. A “small is beautiful” philosophy” yields low quantities of extremely high quality fruit, which is made into internationally award-winning wines. With tastings at our best boutique wineries, the secrets of Waiheke's stunning world-wide success in fine red wines will be revealed to the interested visitor. You'll come away with a deep appreciation of the vinter's art and an understanding of the terrior, the weather and the tides of tradition which make up this art. You'll learn which are the vintages to look out for and be able to purchase the best for your cellar direct from the vineyards. A typical day tour would include a visit to 3 vineyards followed with lunch at a fourth vineyard. Accommodation: Auckland - Hilton hotel or Westin Hotel
Day 3: Auckland – Domestic flight - Rotorua (Private Cultural experience)
You will be transferred from your accommodation to the Domestic Airport in Auckland to board a flight to Rotorua. Your tour arrives in the geothermal capital of Rotorua in before midday. Set amidst a landscape of erupting geothermal activity, hot thermal springs and hot bubbling mud pools is the Living Maori village of Whakarewarewa situated in Rotorua, the heart of the North Island. Discover our unique lifestyle and traditions. Take a private guided tour by a Maori (native) host and see the wonders of Mother Nature and learn how we have come to live in harmony within this unique environment. Prepare your own Hangi Meal and making your own rourou (food basket) or place mat. After the cultural performance, lift your hangi meal from the steam vents and enjoy your meal. From here you will also see the world famous Pohutu Geyser, the largest such geyser in the Southern hemisphere. By late afternoon you can relax in the tranquil settings of your luxury lodge style accommodation. Accommodation: Rotorua - Wildwood Lodge
Day 4: Rotorua
Relax in your stunning surroundings and your lodge.
Recommneded activities: Take a rejuvenating spa in traditional Miri Miri way. Walk some of the numerous lake and bush walks. Enjoy a float plane flight to a geothermal wonderland. Take an exhilarating Jet boat ride on Waikato River. Experience a helicopter landing and walk in an active volcano. Fly fish in one of the world‟s best rivers. Accommodation: Rotorua - Wildwood Lodge
Day 5: Rotorua – domestic flight – Wanaka-South Island
In the morning a driver will transfer you to Rotorua airport for your connecting flight to the South Island in Queenstown. A driver will await you at the airport and take you to Lake Wanaka, before midday. A private driver will take you to your stunning location at your lodge. Whare Kea Lodge is a private alpine haven nestled amongst the mountains of New Zealand‟s spectacular Southern Alps. Beautiful lakeside walks start right at the front door of the Lodge. Easy walking tracks around Lake Wanaka and the nearby hills provide outstanding views of the lake and mountains. Accommodation: Wanaka - Whare Kea Lodge
Day 6: Wanaka
Relax in your stunning surroundings and your lodge.
Recommended activities: Take a private wine tour of Central Otago wineries. Walk some of the numerous high country treks in Mt Aspiring National Park. Enjoy a 4WD private high-country sheep/deer farm tour. Experience a scenic flight, take a hike and enjoy a jet boat drive at Siberia Valley. Enjoy a helicopter flight over the rugged West coast, Mt Aspiring and Glaciers. Accommodation: Wanaka - Whare Kea Lodge
Day 7: Wanaka - Day trip to Fiordland national Park (Scenic flight to Milford Sounds)
You taking a flight/cruise excursion into the Milford Sound. You are heading for the spectacular Milford Sound, described by Rudyard Kipling as the „eighth wonder of the world” which was carved out during successive ice ages and, at its deepest point off Mitre Peak, plunges to a depth of 265 meters. The awesome splendour of this region is unsurpassed anywhere else in the World, a daring claim in a country which offers extraordinary beauty around every corner. Fly from Queenstown to magnificent Milford Sound and enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains, lakes and fiords of the Fiordland National Park. At Milford Sound your launch cruise travels the full length of Milford Sound. Return to Wanaka via the famous Sutherland Falls and glaciers of the Fiordland National Park. Day 8: Wanaka - Queenstown departure (afternoon)
A personal driver will take you on a tour into the surrounding areas to Arthur‟s Point it‟s on to Coronet Peak for more spectacular views of Queenstown, to your next stop in Arrowtown, a historic colonial village that takes you back into the gold mining days of the Otago region. We will take you for lunch into the township of Queenstown. Here enjoy the last minute shopping or just relax on the lakefront of Lake Wakatipu. After midday you will be transferred to your departing flight in Queenstown
